Mission Spotlight
DAZZ Medical, a service of Lowcountry Pregnancy Center
http://lowcountrypregnancycenter.com | 843-553-3505
DAZZ Medical Services is the West Ashley branch of Lowcountry Pregnancy Center providing free pregnancy tests and ultrasounds for women in the community. DAZZ is a Prolife ministry meeting the needs of women in crisis. The staff and volunteers are Christians committed to bringing help and hope to those who seek our services. Counseling, parenting and fatherhood classes, sexual integrity and relationship education as well as Gospel sharing is offered to all clients. We have referral information to adoption agencies as well. There is also counseling for those who have lost babies or children.
A new free service has been added for testing of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). This gives an additional opportunity to counsel on abstinence for single women and integrity in marriage. Most women are very open to discuss the spiritual aspect of intimate relationships and their spiritual views in general. Frequently they express how they are encouraged by this counseling.
This ministry is saving babies, helping women to improve their lives on many levels and bringing the Gospel of Salvation to many. For more information contact Judy Byrd judithbyrd@att.net.
Charleston Port & Seafarers’ Society
http://charlestonseafarers.org | 843-647-3402
Each year, more than 65,000 seafarers arrive on hundreds of vessels to the Charleston Port. Most crews consist of persons from diverse third-world countries and from many cultures. Three to four nationalities are common for one vessel, with a crew of around 25 seafarers. Many are lonely, away from home and their families for up to a year at a time. The need and opportunity for ministry to these brothers and sisters is tremendous.
This ministry, unlike any other, allows us to reach the nations through our own back yard. If you would like to learn more about this ministry please email Curt Pitts.
